Fuel card providers can sometimes have inaccurate GPS coordinates on file for their station locations. Previously, MyGeotab had no way to distinguish a bad station-location data point from a genuinely suspicious transaction, so both were flagged the same way as a "location mismatch" — creating noise for fleet managers and driving unnecessary support cases across more than 2,000 databases and 450,000+ subscriptions.

• A new Station Location Data Error warning pill now appears on fuel transactions where the station's GPS coordinates are a known data quality issue, clearly separating them from genuine anomalies.
• Geotab has curated a list of stations with known bad GPS coordinates by cross-referencing telematics data with fuel card transaction records; the Data & Analytics team refreshes it periodically.
• With inaccurate station data separated out, the "Location Mismatch" flag now carries more weight — fleet managers can trust that a flagged transaction genuinely warrants attention.
