Geotab's collision detection portfolio has evolved: customers are now actively using the Major Collision and Minor Collision rules, which provide greater detection accuracy and are Geotab's recommended framework, but the add-in did not support events generated by those newer rules. Starting in early September, the Collision Reconstruction Add-In has been extended to support events triggered by the Major Collision and Minor Collision rules as well.

If you're using Major or Minor Collision rules in MyGeotab, you can now generate a Collision Reconstruction report directly from those events, the same way you would for a Possible Collision event. You no longer need to choose between using Geotab's most accurate collision detection rules and having access to reconstruction reports, closing a gap in the post-incident workflow.

Safety managers can generate reconstruction reports for Major and Minor Collision events directly from the exception event view, just as they do today for Possible Collision events, no configuration changes are required. The add-in also now retrieves 100 Hz accelerometer data surrounding each collision event, producing richer, more accurate reconstruction visuals that help safety managers better understand the forces involved and strengthen documentation for insurance claims and driver exoneration.
