About
Geotab's video coaching platform is getting a series of updates this quarter focused on three things: less noise for managers, more control over how cameras behave, and clearer proof that coaching is working.
Persistent Event Filters — Save any filter combination on the Events page (event type, driver, behavior, date range) and restore it automatically every time you log in. Choose between private views for personal use or public views shared across the entire database, so every safety manager starts from the same place. High-value combinations — like tailgating and phone use events for a specific driver group — can be built once and used by everyone who needs them.
GO Talk — Adds spoken alerts to the GO device via text-to-speech, delivering real-time feedback to drivers when rule conditions are triggered in MyGeotab. Alerts are delivered through two methods: device-based rules, pre-configured in MyGeotab, and server-based rules, customizable per driver or vehicle with tokens for driver name, location, and zone name. Server-based alerts require a MyGeotab connection and are not available in areas without cellular coverage.
Timing details will be confirmed as releases approach.
Unblur: Investigative Footage Access — Privacy blurring protects drivers day to day. When a collision, criminal incident, or insurance claim requires a closer look, authorized administrators will have a secure, audited path to unblurred footage. Access requires a specific security clearance not granted by default, requires a minimum Administrator role, and is invisible in the UI to anyone without it. Every instance of access is automatically logged in the MyGeotab audit log.
Video Coaching Effectiveness Tab — A new Effectiveness tab inside Coaching shows the results fleets are already generating — fewer risky events, coaching outcomes, and driver improvement trends — in one place. The headline metric shows the reduction in risky events since coaching began, benchmarked against the fleet's own pre-coaching baseline. No setup required — it draws on existing AI-detected events and coaching sessions from day one.
MyGeotab Zone Integration — Fleets will be able to use their existing MyGeotab zones to control camera behavior, with no duplicate setup or separate configuration. Video DMS and ADAS triggers can be turned on and off via zones, and video events are tagged with zone name and category for easier filtering and coaching focus.
Persistent Event Filters and GO Talk are available now. Unblur, the Video Coaching Effectiveness Tab, and MyGeotab Zone Integration are targeted for Q3 2026; timing will be confirmed as releases approach.
