Google does believe in MCP and is investing heavily in the protocol. The issue is that it still hasn't released support in Gemini, as a chat&#x2F;assistant, for connecting directly to an external MCP server. That's why, for now, we recommend using Geotab MCP with Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot, which already have the MCP client experience built in. Google is clearly moving in that direction; they've simply been slower to bring it to Gemini. In the meantime, Google does offer MCP client support through its developer tools, including Antigravity and the Gemini&#x2F;Antigravity CLI. They're also adding MCP support to other parts of the Gemini API and Google Cloud.
