How long must an incident last for an exception to be triggered in Surfsight?

I have the Distracted Driver exception, which lasts a little over 5 seconds without the driver looking at the road, but the Surfsight camera exception wasn't triggered.

What conditions must be met to trigger the exception when the driver is distracted?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

The reason your Distracted Driver incident lasting slightly over 5 seconds did not trigger an exception is due to the camera's fixed time thresholds for MV+AI events.

  • The incident duration must be much longer than 5 seconds.
  • According to the Surfsight configuration, 1 Interval equals 10 seconds.

image.pngConditions for event triggering:

  1. The distraction must last for the minimum required time (at least 10 seconds for general distraction).
  2. The vehicle must be moving at 5 Km/h or faster.

Your 5-second incident was too short to reach the minimum 10-second threshold required for the camera to classify it as an "alarm".

I hope this information is helpful!
