Also the MyGeotab MCP is now officially available on the Claude directory. Just makes it easier now to connect.

MCP on Claude is amazing

Hi, Currently Gemini does not natively support MCP. There are workarounds via Antigravity but it's more complicated. It appears that Google is going to release their MCP support soon and MyGeotab will be natively on their connector list from day one, making the connection seamless.

Hey @grazianygomez I'm the PM for the Geotab MCP and Ace. I'm glad to hear you're finding it useful. I'd love to have a chat with you on this. This is my email: sajadshiravi@geotab.com

Hi Did you follow the steps provided here?

Why does the system not allow some users in my database to enable unified login?

Hey Mike, Some of the operations are blocked until we have thoroughly tested them to ensure the AI can handle them appropriately. In terms of the API calls we are in the midst of producing purpose built Skills that will provide better guidance to the AI on how to most efficiently utilize the endpoints. The limits have more headroom that you'd expect. Rate limits apply per method + entity + username + database combination, not as one global bucket. The relevant entities for your question are generous at base tier: Get DutyStatusAvailability allows 2,500/min, DriverRegulation 500/min, Device 650/min. Fleets over 1,000 tracked assets get a tier multiplier (5x to 25x). An 18-call question consumes under 1% of one minute's budget for one entity. Most limits are also still in observe-only mode (headers set, not enforced yet). Reference: developers.geotab.com/myGeotab/guides/rateLimits

Data Connector - HTTP request error 403

Excellent thank you for your patience. Yeah turns out that Postman can't handle the URL redirect. Tableau is similar so if you're interested the URL can be found under the Tableau tab in the Data Connector page in MyG.

Can you use this URL and add your date filter to this instead of the one you are using?https://odata-connector-ca-1.geotab.com/odata/v4/svc/

Hi, Source: this document. Postman, by default, strips the Authorization header when it follows a redirect to a different host. This is a security feature designed to prevent your sensitive credentials from being sent to an untrusted third-party server. When a server responds with a redirect status code (like a 301 or 302), it's telling the client to make a new request to a different URL. For security reasons, Postman won't automatically include the Authorization header in this subsequent request, especially if the new URL is on a different domain. The new, unauthenticated request then fails, resulting in an error code like 400 Bad Request or 403 Forbidden. To fix this, you need to manually add the Authorization header to the request. Instead of relying on the built-in "Authorization" tab, you should go to the Headers tab and explicitly create a new header with the key Authorization and its corresponding value. This ensures the header is included in every part of the request, even after a redirect.
