Geotab has now defined the timeline for full migration to Unified Login, also known as Central Identity and Access Management. The goal is to unify all user accounts across every MyGeotab database and Geotab product, so customers access all Geotab platforms as a single user instead of creating and signing in to separate accounts everywhere. By the end of 2026, every MyGeotab database will be on Unified Login.

• One login for everything: a single set of credentials across MyGeotab, MyAdmin, Marketplace, and Community — no per-database passwords.
• SSO-ready: OIDC and SAML 2.0 support lets customers connect Geotab with their organization's existing identity provider.
• Consistent security: standardized password policies and lockout protection across all accounts, out of the box.
• Platform-ready: Unified Login is required for capabilities like the Geotab MCP Connector, so migrated customers can use new features as they launch.

• Usernames must now be 4–60 characters, using only letters, numbers, and the symbols @ ^ $ . ! \ # + ' ~ _ -`. Spaces, accented characters, and non-Latin scripts aren't supported, and usernames must be unique across all MyGeotab databases.
• Password management: for email-based accounts, administrators can no longer set or reset passwords directly — new users receive a welcome email to set their own password, and existing users must use the same self-service flow. Non-email accounts are unchanged.
• Account lockout policy: already standard on most databases. Geotab is enabling it on the remaining databases that don't yet have it, and custom lockout settings will move to the standard policy — 5 minutes after 5 failed attempts, extending to 10 minutes after additional failures.

Migration was announced and kicked off in 2025; most databases and users have already migrated. Self-serve migration has also been available since June 2026 for users still on legacy login — they can migrate from their profile page, and administrators can enable Unified Login for individual users from the user management page. Geotab is actively migrating the remaining databases and users, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
