New Geotab Video updates give GO Focus Plus and Pro fleets greater control over privacy, coaching, and camera behavior. This release bundles three additions: a secure, audited path to unblurred footage for investigations, a new Coaching Effectiveness tab that surfaces coaching outcomes, and zone-based control over camera behavior.
Privacy blurring protects drivers day to day, but when a collision, criminal incident, or insurance claim requires a closer look, authorized administrators now have a secure, audited path to unblurred footage. Access requires a specific security clearance assigned in MyGeotab, it requires a minimum Administrator role and is invisible in the UI to anyone without it. Designed for legitimate investigative scenarios only, administrators access footage through a dedicated UI toggle, and every instance of access is automatically logged in the MyGeotab audit log, giving compliance teams a timestamped record of who accessed what and when.
A new Effectiveness tab inside Coaching shows the results fleets are already generating, such as fewer risky events, coaching outcomes, and driver improvement trends, all in one place. The headline metric shows the reduction in risky events since coaching began, benchmarked against the fleet's own pre-coaching baseline, and a coaching wins feed surfaces real examples of AI detection, in-cab alerts, and manager review turning into safer driver behavior. No setup is required, the tab draws on existing AI-detected events and coaching sessions from day one.
Fleets can now use their existing MyGeotab zones to control camera behavior, with no duplicate setup or separate configuration. Video DMS and ADAS triggers can be turned on and off by zone, and video events are tagged with zone name and category, making it easier to filter reports and focus coaching on what matters. One zone system now drives behavior across both telematics and video, replacing fragmented rules with a single, consistent logic.
