Managing data sharing

Managing data sharing! Let's get started. Log in to the Primary Database. From the Asset page select the specific asset you wish to manage sharing for. Select the Devices & Settings tab. If you need more than one Asset, from the Asset page, you can select multiple Assets or choose all your assets at once. Click Edit. Select the Devices & Settings tab. The process is the same whether you selected a single or multiple assets. For this example, we selected a single asset. Click Start sharing to begin securely sharing this device's data. Please note that assets shared in to your database can't be re-shared to another database. Click Share Data to open sharing options for this device. Note that you can't share a device to a database it already has an active share with. Enter your target database. The target database name must match exactly, or the share won't arrive. Next, let's configure the data sharing settings, such as location data, speed data, payment by target database, or granting device control. The grant device control toggle allows the target database to control settings such as driver feedback. Enable or disable specific parameters. Note that you can choose to grant speed data without location data; however, enabling location data automatically includes speed data. Click Confirm to finalize and activate your data sharing settings. Now we need to switch to the target database to accept the data share request. Log in to the Target Database. A notification will appear at the top of the target database. Shares stay pending until the receiving database accepts them. Click View. Enter your Asset name. Click Accept. Log back in to the Primary Database. Navigate to the Asset page within the Primary Database, then select the asset. Select the Devices & Settings tab. Click Manage sharing. In this section, you can check if your data shares are active or pending, as well as delete the share. After managing your sharing settings, click Close to return to the Asset overview.
