Adding assets

Adding assets! Let's get started. Navigate to the Assets page in MyGeotab by either clicking Assets, or searching for Assets in the menu. Click the + menu in the top right to add a new asset. Select Single asset. Enter a name for the asset. Enter the go device serial number. While not required at this point, MyGeotab's functionality will be limited until you add the serial number to the asset. Enter the Vehicle Identification Number, if needed. MyGeotab will automatically fill in the VIN for most modern vehicles once you take your first trip with the go device. Select the asset type group. There are several built-in asset types, such as Trailer and Vehicle. You can add asset types as needed on the Groups page. Groups are used to organize your assets, users, and zones. You can use groups to filter your database, organize data in reports, create rules that only apply to specific assets, and more. Click Save when finished. Congratulations!
