Malfunctions and diagnostics in the Drive App

Drive App Malfunctions and Diagnostics! Let's get started. Your ELD system constantly monitors its operational status. Pay close attention to yellow diagnostic banners and red malfunction banners at the top of your screen. If it detects an issue, it will alert you. Look for banners appearing at the top of your screen. A RED banner indicates an ELD Malfunction. This is a more serious issue that could impact ELD compliance and requires specific actions. If you see a yellow or red banner, tap directly on the banner itself. This screen will provide a list of current and sometimes past diagnostic or malfunction events. For any active diagnostic or malfunction in the list, tap the question mark icon next to it. This will display detailed information about that specific issue and, most importantly, what steps the driver needs to take. Red malfunction banners indicate more critical ELD issues. It is essential to follow the instructions provided when you tap the question mark. These instructions may include notifying your carrier immediately and potentially switching to paper logs if the ELD is not functioning correctly, as per regulations. If you have cleared the issue, tap Clear. The system will keep the Malfunction listed as Cleared for your records. Tap the question mark beside the Diagnostic to see the how to resolve it. Similar to the Malfunction, the Diagnostic will provide you with an explanation, and steps to resolve it. While malfunctions need to be manually cleared, diagnostics will automatically clear once the underlying problem has been addressed.
