Creating a custom rule using logic! Let's get started. Navigate to the Rules page in MyGeotab by either selecting Groups & Rules, then Rules, or searching for Rules in the menu. Select the add button in the top right to create a new custom rule. Enter a clear, descriptive name so others can easily identify the rule. Update the groups only when the rule should be available to a specific set of users, vehicles, or organizational groups. Open the Conditions tab to define the logic that triggers this rule. Add Conditions to your rule. In this example, the rule will trigger when any tire's pressure falls below 200 kilopascals. Select Engine data to build a condition from the vehicle's diagnostic measurements. Choose the measurement-based condition type to evaluate tire-pressure data. Select Display All Diagnostics to show the full list of available diagnostics so you can locate the appropriate tire-pressure measurement. Enter Generic Tire Pressure to filter the diagnostics to find the tire-pressure measurements available for each tire position. Select Generic tire pressure (LF) to start with the left-front tire measurement. Select Under to set the condition to trigger when the front-left tire pressure measurement is below a specified value. Enter 200,000 for the Value to set the threshold for tire pressure below 200kPa. Add the left-front tire pressure condition to the rule. Use Or logic to add the remaining three tires so the rule triggers when any one of the four tire pressure conditions is met. Open the More dropdown to add the Or logical condition. Select the Or condition at the bottom of the list so the next tire measurement is evaluated as an alternative trigger. Add another Engine data condition for the next tire. Configure the left-rear tire to trigger the rule when its pressure is below 200 kilopascals. Review the left-rear tire condition and select Add once the measurement and value are set. Repeat the Or logic and Engine data condition to add the right-front and right-rear tires, each with a value under 200 kilopascals, so all four tires are included. Review all four tire-pressure conditions and confirm the Or logic is applied correctly. Make any needed changes in the Advanced Conditions Editor. You can remove redundant elements to clean up the code, then review the Conditions again for errors. Select Save once the conditions are accurate and free of errors.
