Integrators Group

Hi @JCody-1821 The format of the API call would need to the following:
params=[
typeName="ExceptionEvent",
search = [fromDate = "2023-05-01T00:00:00.00Z", toDate = "2023-05-02T00:00:00.00Z", ruleSearch =
[id = "RulePostedSpeedingId"]],
credentials = [database=database, username=username,sessionId=sessionId],
]
Note that for including filters in a GET API calls you need to wrap the filters under a search object. Supported search properties are noted under the ExceptionEventSearch reference, in there you'll see that for searching by a rule you need to have the ID of the rule you're interested in. So prior to making this call you would need to do a GET Rule API call to get the ID of the Rule you're looking for. The API call would look like this for getting the default rule ID for speeding (Note this is using Insomnia and not Power BI):
{
	"method": "Get",
	"params": {
 "typeName": "Rule",
 "search": {
 "name": "Speeding"
 },
 "credentials": {
 "database": "{{ _.credentials.database }}",
 "userName": "{{ _.credentials.userName }}",
 "sessionId": "{{ _.credentials.sessionId }}"
 }
	}
}
The default speeding rule has an ID of RulePostedSpeedingId, however this would be different depending if you're using a custom rule.

GetFeed request limit?

Hi @CMart-1617 ,Event handlers are currently not supported for notifications on GEOTAB Drive

Drive add-in push notification.

Hi @BGala-1664 ,You'll need to add a fromDate and toDate property limits to your call so that you can only retrieve the ExceptionEvent data for that timeframe only, currently it's attempting to retrieve all of the data on your db. Try this format:
params=[
typeName: "ExceptionEvent",
credentials=[database=database, username=username, sessionId=sessionId ],
fromDate="2022-07-14T17:22:10.996Z",
toDate="2022-07-14T17:22:10.996Z"
]
Note that in the example format the fromDate and toDate are hardcoded, try converting them into variables as the database, username, and sessionId values are being used. This way you can dynamically configure them to be changed for your reports. You can also introduce other filters depending on what you want to achieve ( ExceptionEventSearch ), so you'll need to combine the knowledge of the GEOTAB API with the capabilities that PowerBI offers.

Hi @jeljeljel-1628 you just new to include the new token before the GeotabApi instantiation.
$(document).ready(function() {
var api = new GeotabApi({
credentials: {
database: 'mydb',
userName: 'myusername',
password: 'mypassword'
},
path: 'my.geotab.com'
});
});

error using javascript GeoTab api

Hi @jjohn-1380 ,The parent needs to be set as an object with the id property in it. See the example below:
{
	"method": "Add",
	"params": {
 "typeName": "Group",
 "entity" : {
 "name" : "MY_GROUP_NAME",
 "parent": {
 "id":"MY_ID"
 }
},
 "credentials": {
 "database": "MY_CREDENTIALS",
 "userName": "MY_USERNAME",
 "sessionId": "MY_SESSION_ID"
 }
	}
}

"Id" Parameter needed for Add Group?

Hi @Seth-1151,You can use the GetDeviceContractTransactions api call providing the necessary filters for the billing period you're looking for, this will return an array of ApiDeviceContractTransaction objects with the billing details for each device. You can review more about these calls in the MyAdmin SDK reference site and a guide on how to make the calls in JavaScript here.

What method/object do I call from the MyAdmin SDK to get the current billing costs per device for all of the current devices in our account?

Adding the id as empty will return no results. You need to just send the object as empty ("userSearch": {}), try using it like this:
{
"method": "Get",
"params": {
"search": {
"userSearch": {},
"fromdate": "2022-02-06T00:26:49"
},
"typeName": "DutyStatusViolation",
"credentials": {
"database": "mydatabase",
"path": "ThisServer",
"sessionId": "mysessionid",
"userName": "myusername"
}
}
}

Driver Violations

Yes, you should be able to do it by supplying an empty userSearch object.

Hi @RKoon-1279 ,Thanks for sharing your API call. One thing that I noticed is that you're using carrierNumber as a search property, you will need to perform the search by one of the supported search properties for this API call (id, companyGroups, driverGroups), you can find more details by reviewing the DutyStatusViolationSearch reference
{
"method": "Get",
"params": {
"search": {
"userSearch": {
"id": "USER_ID"
},
"fromdate": "2022-02-03T13:26:49"
},
"typeName": "DutyStatusViolation",
"credentials": {
"database": "mydatabase",
"path": "ThisServer",
"sessionId": "mysessionid",
"userName": "myusername"
}
}
}
 I was able to retrieve unverified violations right after they were triggered via the API with my test device. The way in which violations are triggered depend on the type of the violation and the ruleset that the driver has configured, you can review the specifics for each rule set by following this link. If you're still presenting problems, feel free to reach out to me via email with the specific details and we can go over the specifics of your API call and current results.
