Coordinated police response for confirmed vehicle theft

We are expanding Stolen Vehicle Services in MyGeotab® with Report as Stolen, a new escalation feature that connects fleet managers directly to a 24/7 Security Operations Center when a vehicle is confirmed stolen. The SOC coordinates with local police using live GPS data from MyGeotab, taking the communication burden off fleet teams during a high-pressure situation. Report as Stolen is the second feature under Stolen Vehicle Services, following Lost Mode, which launched globally in July 2026. Together, they provide a complete, built-in recovery workflow — from immediate self-serve response to full law enforcement coordination — without leaving MyGeotab.

Why it matters

Lost Mode gives fleet managers a fast first response when a vehicle goes missing. When a theft is confirmed and law enforcement needs to be involved, coordinating that response takes time and expertise most fleet teams do not have. Report as Stolen handles that escalation, ensuring police receive accurate, real-time location data and reducing the time between detection and recovery. Submit a theft case with the police reference number directly from MyGeotab. A 24/7 Security Operations Center receives live location data and coordinates with local authorities on your behalf. Included in GO Plan and ProPlus subscriptions at no additional cost.

Who is affected

Report as Stolen is rolling out to Europe first, followed by North America later in 2026. The feature is not available for FedRAMP or Commercial Government accounts. Customers outside supported regions will see the option grayed out with explanatory text.

When Lost Mode is active, audible alerts and LED indicators on GO™ devices are disabled to avoid alerting a potential thief. Mode expires after 72 hours but can be reactivated at any time.
