Fuel is one of the largest variable costs in fleet operations, but without dollar figures alongside consumption data, cost context has always required a separate tool. The legacy Green Fleet Dashboard add-in previously provided fuel cost estimates; when it was deprecated, customers lost that financial layer and flagged it as a significant gap. As of August 2026, MyGeotab has introduced a Fuel Cost Estimate metric directly in the Fuel and Energy Overview. Prices are sourced weekly from Global Petrol Prices, matched to each vehicle's fuel type and primary operating location, and cover gasoline, diesel, and PHEV vehicles when operating on their combustion engine.

Clicking the Fuel Cost Estimate card displays a monthly trend chart for the current and previous year, with hover detail showing the total estimated cost and the market fuel price rate used for that month. All figures display in the user's local currency, defaulting to USD if currency conversion is unavailable. Battery Electric, Fuel Cell Electric, Biodiesel, CNG, Ethanol, and LPG vehicles are excluded from the estimate; if a vehicle's fuel type or powertrain group is unassigned, gasoline pricing is applied by default. Because the figures use weekly regional market prices rather than actual pump transactions, they are directional and will not match a fuel card statement exactly.

Began a two-week gradual feature flag rollout on August 19, 2026. Fuel cost estimates update monthly, with the previous month's data typically available within the first few days of the following month.
