The Collision Reconstruction Add-In is an existing beta feature in MyGeotab that lets safety managers generate collision reconstruction reports for exception events. Previously, it only supported the legacy Possible Collision rule — leaving a gap for customers who had moved to Geotab's more accurate Major and Minor Collision rules and left them unable to reconstruct those events. Starting in early September, the add-in has been extended to support events triggered by the Major and Minor Collision rules, and now retrieves 100 Hz accelerometer data to produce higher-fidelity reconstruction visuals.

• Customers using Major or Minor Collision rules — Geotab's recommended, more accurate collision detection framework — can now generate reconstruction reports directly from those events, the same way they could for Possible Collision events.
• Higher-frequency (100 Hz) accelerometer data produces richer, more accurate reconstruction visuals, helping safety managers better understand the forces involved in a collision and strengthening documentation for insurance claims and driver exoneration.
• Closes a gap that led some customers to stay on the legacy Possible Collision rule because their Major/Minor Collision events weren't supported by the add-in.

This is an additive change; existing reconstruction functionality for Possible Collision events is unchanged, and no workflows are disrupted. No action is required from end users or administrators; the update takes effect automatically at release.

Rolling out to all databases with the Collision Reconstruction Add-In in a single rollout beginning in early September 2026.
