Using Geotab Data Connector with Excel

Using Geotab Data Connector with Excel! Let's get started. Navigate to the Data Connector page in MyGeotab by either selecting Reports, then Data Connector, or searching for Data Connector in the menu. The Excel tab provides the access URL and templates needed to connect your workbook. Copy the Access URL so you can use it when you configure the OData connection in Excel. Choose a template that matches the report you want to create and download it to your computer. Open the downloaded template to continue setting up the connection. Enable the content if Excel prompts you so the template can use its data connection. Use the Data ribbon tab to access Excel's external data connection tools. Open the Get Data options to choose the type of source you want to connect. Under From Other Sources, choose the OData Feed option to connect Excel to the Access URL from MyGeotab. Use the Basic authentication option if it is not already selected. Paste the Access URL you copied from MyGeotab earlier into the connection window. Select OK to confirm the URL and continue to the sign-in options. Open the Basic tab to enter your MyGeotab credentials. Enter your database name, followed by a slash and your MyGeotab username. For example, db123/demo_user@example.com. Enter the password associated with the MyGeotab username you provided. Keep the default setting on Select which level to apply these settings to so the credentials apply at the intended connection level. Connect to the data source using the credentials you entered. Close the Navigator after the connection is established to return to the workbook. In the Data ribbon tab, select Refresh all so the template retrieves the latest data from the connected source. Save the workbook after the data loads so your connection and report are preserved. With the data source connected, you can now create custom reports in Excel using your MyGeotab data.
