Creating custom reports

Creating custom reports! Let's get started. You can customize most reports and reload them into your database. This allows you to customize your database to reflect your business needs, and get as much return on investment as possible out of your fleet by revealing the details that impact you most. For this example, we'll customize an existing Trips History report, convert it into a mileage report, then load it back into the database. To start, click reports Click Report Setup. Click Report Views. Enter Advanced Trips Detail Report in the search field. Click Export to download the report template. Locate the file in your Downloads folder, then click to open it. Click enable editing at the top of the Excel file. This allows you to make any necessary changes to the report. Click the Summary tab to find the mileage report. Click a cell in the table to open the Pivot Table Fields side pane. In the side pane, uncheck fields so that only Device and Distance remain. Click the "Pivot Table Analyze" ribbon tab. Click Pivot Chart in the Tools section. Choose the Clustered Column chart and click OK. You can also change the chart title and colors as you prefer. Once configured to your liking, save the file to your computer while still on the Summary tab. Back in MyGeotab, click Create custom report. Drag and drop your file into the upload box, or click to browse your computer for the file. Once the file is loaded, click the file name at the top to rename it "Mileage Report Daily". A best practice is to enter the date range in the report title. In this example, it is daily. Select Yes for "Show report in dropdown list".  This option makes the Mileage Report Daily template available for use when you are downloading reports. Select the option you wish to run the report by. In this example, we'll leave it as Vehicles & Assets. Click Save when finished. The Mileage Report Daily template is now available for use. Congratulations!
