Hello community,

I'm reaching out with a few questions regarding the GO Focus cameras.

I noticed they are installed to the GO device in the same way as IOX expansions. My questions are the following: What is the maximum number of IOX devices that can be connected (not counting the camera)? I understand that up to 5 IOX expansions can be connected; if so, does the camera count as one of those IOX units?

Additionally, I understand that in installations with more than one IOX, the camera should be the last one in the daisy chain. Does the GO Focus function as the termination shunt?

Thank you for asking your question in our community. This is a good question. I have not seen this addressed anywhere. I assume it does count as one of the IOX units but not 100% sure about that. I will talk with our product team and follow up with answers to both of your questions.

Hi Eishi, thank you for the information.

I have a follow-up question: Does having the GO Focus installed limit the total number of IOX units allowed, or can we still have up to 5 (the camera plus 4 others)? I'm asking specifically because of the power consumption of the camera and whether it impacts the capacity of the daisy chain.

The short answer is yes, the amount of IOX's will be limited by what IOX's you are using (cameras included). There is not really a number of IOX's I can give because it is dependent on what IOX and what camera is in use. The GO Focus has a lesser power draw than the Focus Plus etc.

I just did a quick check and the GO9 spec sheet says that the max current draw of all IOXes is 2750mA and the GO Focus Plus uses 500mA while it's running. So long as the other 4 IOXes don't use more than 2700mA combined then you should be fine.
