Installation Notes and Warnings
WARNING! Use Geotab telematics devices only with Geotab-approved harnesses acquired from Geotab-authorized channels. Use of non-Geotab harnesses from unauthorized channels can cause serious safety risks, including fire, and can lead to serious personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle.
! IMPORTANT: USA Only: Place the enclosed CARB Executive Order (EO) identification label sticker in the vehicle engine compartment, somewhere near the Vehicle Emission Control Information label on a smooth and clean surface. The EO identification label is required to aid inspection of the vehicle under the California Smog Check program and other applicable smog test programs. See here for more info...
✱ NOTE: If a longer length is required to facilitate installation, connect a straight harness to a T-harness or another straight harness — where indicated below. The total harness length must not exceed 2 meters (or 6.5 feet).
✱ NOTE: Regardless of the length, two T-harnesses CANNOT connect to each other. Connecting two T-harnesses, or any two harnesses that exceed 2 meters, compromises the integrity of the data and may cause issues with the vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU).

Introduction
This document identifies all the harnesses available in MyAdmin, and the harnesses available by special order. This document also provides the following details for each harness:
- A description of the harness;
- The length of the harness;
- The purpose of the harness;
- The country of origin;
- The GO device supported by the harness (if applicable); and
- The renamed or replaced harness (if applicable).

OBD Harnesses
HRN-BS16S4Description OBDII extension cable pack for GO devices. Replaces the HRN-INSTALLPACKV2. Further Information Replaces: HRN-INSTALLPACKV2 Length: 100 centimeters / 39 inches Purpose: Used to extend the placement of the GO device. Recommended on vehicles where the ALDL (OBD vehicle connection) is located in an area that may cause the GO device to impede the driver. HRN-GS16K22! IMPORTANT: Geotab prohibits the use of the 16-pin universal harness in North American Volvo/Mack 2019+ trucks when using a GO9 device, due to a known interoperability issue. Geotab has a specific harness intended for GO9 device installations, using HRN-CM24Y1 with HRN-CE10K2 or HRN-CS14S21 (14-pin connector).  Description Universal OBDII T-Harness Kit for the GO device. Multi-adapter kit consisting of a T-harness (HRN-BM16T22) and 12 different mounting adapters for use in most light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty vehicles, and is compatible with most models globally. HRN-DS06T2Description 6-pin heavy-duty T-Harness for installations where the Deutsch connector needs to remain available for other applications. Replaces HRN-D6THD. Further Information Replaces: HRN-D6THD Length: 60 centimeters / 24 inches Purpose: To move the GO device under the dashboard and out of sight while leaving the Deutsch connector exposed. This harness has a standard 6-pin Deutsch connector. What changed: The harness is now 60 centimeters in length (24 inches) allowing for GO device installation without an install pack. HRN-GS09K2Description Universal Heavy-Duty T-Harness Kit for the GO device. Custom Harnesses
HRN-BS04A1 (Discontinued)Description Adapter harness for use with HRN-DS09T2, HRN-DT09T2 and HRN-GS09K2, for improved engine support for 2017 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. Further Information Requires: HRN-GS09K2 Replacements:The HRN-BS04A1adapter harness is only required if using the GO7 or GO8 devices. It was not required for the GO9. There is no replacement harness. The solution is to replace the device with a GO9, which is designed to directly support enhanced engine data. HRN-BD16K1Description Battery disconnect bypass harness for GO device. For use on any vehicle with a positive battery terminal disconnect kill switch.This kit contains the harness and a fuse kit. Further Information ! IMPORTANT: It is important to understand the risks involved when bypassing a master-power switch. The client must be informed and involved so that they understand and can approve the installation. Length: 8 centimeters / 3.15 inches Purpose: Used to maintain power to the GO device (maintain IOX learning, and heartbeats) when a vehicle is outfitted with a main battery disconnect kill switch.
