Integrators Group

Hi @CChun-1811 , Sure you just need to send a POST request to: https://my.geotab.com/apiv1
{
	"method": "Authenticate",
	"params": {
 "database": "database_name",
 "userName": "yourusername",
 "password": "yourrealpassword"
	}
}
And you will get the session ID:
{
	"result": {
 "credentials": {
 "database": "database_name",
 "sessionId": "jZa3Nusv2aJ9Q6MhQ1ekWg",
 "userName": "yourusername"
 },
 "path": "ThisServer"
	},
	"jsonrpc": "2.0"
}
Best,Ron

What is the correct syntax for authentication in postman?

Hi @accounts@agtstech.com accounts@agtstech.com , You can use the OptimizeWayPoints Method: https://geotab.github.io/sdk/software/api/reference/#OptimizeWaypoints This is an example: Best,Ron

Route Optimization API

Hello @PSa-1463 , Myadmin is only accessible for Geotab Resellers, if you are a Geotab Reseller and you are not able to access it, please get in touch with your Geotab Partner Account Manager. In order to get data from multiple MyG databases you can use MyGeotab API to access each database independently and get the data you need. Take a look at this discussion: https://community.geotab.com/s/question/0D52J00008DvkDnSAJ/how-to-get-the-data-from-multiple-mygeotab-databases-into-one-centralized-location Another option you have is Extendable Services - Extendable Services is a secured data-sharing technology that allows users to collaborate with trusted business partners by extending their telematics data to other Fleet Management Application users. For example, users can extend safety and performance-driven data to insurance providers to save on coverage, or extend engine diagnostic data with maintenance providers to save on repairs. Hope this helps! Best,Ron

What is the correct process to get authenticated in the myadmin.geotab.com?

Hi @TFREI-1444 , I'm not sure if there is a step-by-step guide on how to set up the API adapter on a Linux server, maybe @SteveD-1097 can give us a hand on this. Best,Ron

how to setup API Adapter on linux server

Yes. Unless you have non-Geotab telematics devices integrated and installed in your MyGeotab database or OEM ones. Best,Ron

Looking for an API to push data to GEOTab database

Hello @EGeni-1251 , OK. If I understand correctly you want to move vehicles to a different group depending on their location, is this correct? If the vehicles are moving to fixed areas, you can create a zone around that area and then create a rule that moves the vehicle to a different group as soon as the vehicle is inside that zone. You can take a look at the example below:

Every time a vehicle is entering that specific area I will move the vehicle to a different group. You can apply this rule to specific vehicles or all the vehicles in the database.

2. Assigning the vehicle to a different group. In this case, you won't need to use the API. Hope this helps! Ron

Hi @EGeni-1251 , Geotab API doesn't allow updating vehicle location via API. Geotab API is designed to pull information, not to push it, of course, you can edit some things like vehicle name, plate number, etc, but you are not able to push actual data like GPS coordinates, engine data, etc. May I ask what are you trying to achieve? On the other hand, we can use the Data Intake Gateway to integrate custom telematics devices (Non-Geotab devices), meaning MyGeotab can receive data from external devices. Hope that helps. Best,Ron

Hi @KUeha-1540 , Yes. MyGeotab supports Single Sign-On (SSO) user authentication via the SAML 2.0 specification with both Identity Provider (IdP)-initiated and Service Provider (SP)-initiated protocol bindings. You can take a look at this document: MyGeotab SAML 2.0 SSO Integration Guide [PUB] Best,Ron

Geotab provides authorization interface, like OAuth?

Hi @luniy-1654 , You can do almost everything through the API. Have in mind that MyGeotab UI is built on top of our SDK (API calls under the hood). https://geotab.github.io/sdk/ <---- API documentation Geotab Software Technical toolkit Take a look both resources shared above. Do you have anything in mind? Best,Ron

I would like to know what kind of changes can we do in the open API ?

Hi @SGupt-1555 This is basically engine data, you can check all the Known IDs here. You can try these: diagnosticVehicleBatteryLowVoltageIddiagnosticBatteryCurrentIddiagnosticBatteryTemperatureId You can also leverage on DiagnosticGoDeviceVoltageId. This is the diagnostic we use for the battery drain rule in MyGeotab. This rule identifies vehicles that have a battery voltage below 9 volts (you can define whatever threshold you want to trigger an alarm on your side). An alert from this rule can help to identify general battery problems or to remind drivers to turn off their vehicle's lights. Best,Ron
