Geotab Drive now has a Split Sleeper Berth toggle in the driver's Hours of Service (HOS) interface. Drivers can switch on the split sleeper berth provision themselves, without changing rulesets manually.

Why it matters

The split sleeper berth provision lets a qualifying 10-hour off-duty period be divided into two segments. Until now, drivers who wanted to use it had to change rulesets themselves, which added friction and the risk of errors during a complex exemption.

How it works

Drivers enable the toggle in their HOS interface, and Geotab handles the back-end calculations automatically. The interface shows each split period's times, required durations and the point of no return, so drivers can see how their hours are being tracked at every stage. Fleet managers and administrators see the same information in MyGeotab, so the compliance picture is consistent on both sides.

Availability

The toggle launches to all databases on 9/28.
